Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar announced won three universities through the activities of the  World Youth Forum 2018 in Sharm El-Sheikh, 

winning the University of Kafr El-Sheikh first position, Assiut University in second position, and Mansoura University in the third position in the competition of the best Egyptian University in 2018.

This is the initiative of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to choose the best university during the sixth youth conference held last July at Cairo University.

It is worth mentioning that this competition is according to evaluation including: the infrastructure of each university, laboratories and training places, the university's aesthetic form, the academic level of scientific publishing and the proportion of students to faculty members. In addition, The University provides self-resources to cover its expenses, communicate between students and faculty members, physical and social care, medical and student activities offered to its students and the University's contribution to community service and environmental development.
