The Department of Mathematics was established since the establishment of the College of Science in 1969 as one of the six main departments. Students studying in the Department of Mathematics are granted a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. The study at the undergraduate level is divided into two divisions, namely, Mathematics division and Statistics and Computer Science division. While there are four majors for postgraduate students (Master's and PhD), which are (Pure Mathematics - Applied Mathematics - Statistics - Computer Science). As of January 2021, Mathematics Department consists of 50 staff members and 20 members of the supporting staff (Demonstrators and Assistant Lecturers).
