According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2023, Mansoura University maintains its position in the Shanghai Ranking 2023 , Mansoura University has succeeded in maintaining its ranking  601-700 internationally and second locally after Cairo University. It is worth mentioning that the Shanghai Ranking is considered one of the most powerful global rankings in the world for a long time. This ranking relies on several criteria that evaluate universities based on their scientific and research productivity.

 ARWU uses six objective indicators to rank world universities as follows ,The number of alumni and staff winning Nobel PrizesNumber of highly cited researchers. Number of articles published in Nature and Science journals, Number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded™ and Social Sciences Citation Index™ in the Web of Science™, and per capita performance of a university. More than 2500 universities are ranked by ARWU every year and the best 1000 are published. The presence of Mansoura University in the Shanghai ranking for the sixth year is regarded as a significant success because this Ranking is mostly based on the number of Nobel Prize winners, therefore Mansoura University competes strongly to remain in the top 1000 institutions in the world.
