Mansoura University achieves a new international milestone according to the “Webometrics Ranking of reference citations”, January 2024 edition, which indicates that Mansoura University leads the Egyptian universities with a number of citations amounting to (636,435 reference citations).

The Spanish “Webometrics” Ranking for reference citations depends on university websites and the rate of citations to scientific research published internationally, relying on Google Scholar for citations to international research. The ranking motivates academic institutions in the world to present their scientific activities that reflect their academic level on the Internet, as it is based on measuring the performance of universities using web indicators and bibliometric indicators for scientific research through their websites within criteria that include capacity of the university’s website, links and the number of external networks, which are linked to the university’s web pages, the appearance of the university’s website on other websites, and the number of research papers published in the best international journals as well as references to them.
