On Sunday, February 17, 2019 in the sports hall at the Olympic Village of Mansoura University, the activities of the "800-year Festival of Mansoura" 

that will be held on 16-21 February 2019 at Mansoura University in the presence of Prof. Kamal Jad Sharoubim, Governor of Dakahlia, Prof. Abdel Basset, President of Mansoura University, Captain Mahmoud El-Khatib, star of Al-Ahli club and president the club, Prof. Mofeed Shehab, former Minister of Higher Education.

The ceremony was also attended by Prof.  Mahmoud El Meligy, Vice President for Environmental Affairs, Prof. Ashraf Mohamed Sweilem, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Rida Sayed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, prof. Ahmed Gamal El Din Mousa, former President of Mansoura University, former Minister of Education, Sheikh. Taha Ziada, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Anba Dawood, and a number of faculty members at Mansoura University.

Prof. Kamal Jad Sharobim, Governor of Dakahlia, praised the role of Mansoura University in promoting the ancient history of Mansoura, which has embraced all cultures and religions since its establishment.

He also promised the urban development of Dakahlia in general and Mansoura in particular. A road will be established linking the old Mansoura and the new Mansoura as well as starting the construction of the subway in Mansoura.
